Hi all. I'm going to keep this "Tuck is Love" blog as more of a "nuts and bolts" kind of journal of work in progress and sketch book stuff and web comic storyborards that won't take up as much room as "RevoluTuck". That is my more polished blog now and it's more then the art.

(Above.) Is a WIP of a new cover that I'm reworking of one of my own properties "Starla Dust". I am getting more into developing my skill in cartooning and animation style drawing.
I've been doing this for a few decades, but going to the blogs like John K and Eddie Fitzgerald, has really switched a light bulb on. A very "AH HAH!" kind of moment, if you will.

A few basic things about me.

I live 80 miles outside of Memphis, Tennessee on a cotton farm that is an ancestral home for 5 generations. I've done countless illustrations and designs for local clients, as-well-as international. The most recent and best known would be Muck Sticky. You could say I'm unofficially his "Official Artist".

(the crazy thing is off camera he actually wears 3 piece suits, speaks in a British accent and the weed, that he smokes, is actually a prop........ shhhhhhhhhhhhh! )

Hi all, this is the opening pages of the, never has been finished, graphic novel epic story, of mine, I call "Key". It's been around in some form or another since the early 90's. This here is the most recent attempt that was done on 2004-5. I never got the layouts past the first chapter or two. Regardless this is how the story of a young man named Jerry and his talking dog Dean, discover a different level of existence, and seeks out what their purpose in its world is. They wonder how important they are to it, because it appears this new strange land is depending on them is some special way.

After the big favorable reaction the the first one pager story I did for Martin Fisher's "Doctor Who Fragments" story, "Traveling Exiles", immediantly I was given another script for the original Doctor Who and Susan. "First Time Out" takes place before the first story I did, and both are before the events of "An Unearthly Child".

Hi there all. I'm getting some excersise in doing girly pi-ups again. This is a bit too early in the Halloween season, but here is a Elvira for ya. I plan on coloring it up etc, a little on down the road.

Another bit of news is the shock in the comic book and illustration world, was the sudden passing of Mike Wieringo. His work on mainstream comic titles like "Flash", "Adventures of Superman", his incredible run on "Fantastic Four", His fantasy work on "Talos" I can't ever ever ever forget!, and more recently "Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman". Gave it all a string yet fun psudo dynamic cartooney style, that actually made me pick up a comic now and then, in an age when browsing over hyped, and depressing mainstream comics is a rarity to bother to pick up. He was kind and incoureging when I would send him the occasional email, or message to his blog.
The chance to meat him face to face is now gone. But his influince will stay with me.

I've been having a case of the burned out blues lately. To the point that I don't really want to do much of anything but watch a lot of "Doctor Who" on youtube and tv-links. Although it did prompt me to do some illustration art related to it. This was by request. It's alright, though I'm not really confident in anything I put out currently.
I'm not sure why I'm so emmersed in Dr. Who suddenly? Granted I liked the 70's Tom Baker stuff (the dude with the scarf, one), when the old "Sci-Fi Channel" would run it in the mornings, in the early 90's. I didn't really pay any attention to it when BBC first brought it back in the first season 2005 revamp. But more and more I would stop and watch it, and I got suckered in to the charm of the show, and the cleverness that the stories have, that other same type of US shows like this, just don't have. So when I found out that I can watch the current season that the UK is running, I was In. I like the new guy that is playing "The Doctor" now. He feels like the old doc, more then the one before in the black leather and way too short hair ever did to me.
I also love looking threw the classic stuff that I never got a chance to see, especially the black & white stuff from the 60's . It is hard for an American to comprehend that this series was actually targeted to British kids. The sophistication and even frightfullness of some the things wouldn't even be considered here in the US, when if comes to kids programing. He we seem to dumb things down for our kids. Boy our education is in the shitter.
